Numerous fire crews responded to the scene. At one point, five fire trucks had hose lines on the fire.
The fire broke out in a house in the 2100 block of West Superior Street, off Hoyne Avenue.
It's unclear where the fire started, but it spread to the attic and void spaces, making it difficult to access.
Fire officials said smoke and flames were visible upon arrival, and crews got water on the initial fire inside the home.
Crestwood police said just after 4 p.m. on March 5, officers and fire crews responded to a call of heavy smoke coming from the ATG Truckload company at 13835 S. Kostner Avenue.
Hoarding conditions inside the home made it difficult for responders to enter, officials said.
