The Cook County Board of Commissioners on Thursday approved eligibility rules for the Cook County Homeowner Relief Fund — a $15 million program to help homeowners who have seen property tax bills spike in recent years.

The pilot program started in the Chicago Police Department's 7th (Englewood) District about three months ago, and will now be expanded to the 5th (Calumet) District.
"New Illinois" is a nonprofit educational group that wants Illinois residents to know about their right to pursue the creation of a new state.
He says since Cook County Crime Stoppers started in 1985, the group has taken over 14,000 tips, and helped solve 27 to 2,800 cases—leading to around 3,000 arrests.
