Adrian Pleban, 18, of Hanover Park, was charged with two counts of reckless homicide and two counts of aggravated reckless driving causing great bodily harm.
The Gary Police Department confirmed all five people inside the vehicle died. The identities of the victims were not released.
The victims included an 11-year-old child, a 35-year-old man, and a 50-year-old man.
