Mike Hill, 61, was one of six people killed in Monday's shooting at The Covenant School.
A motive for the shooting that killed six people, including three children, remains unknown.
"We strongly believe there was going to be some other targets, including maybe family members, and one of the malls here in Nashville," said Nashville Police Chief John Drake.
Three 9-year-old students and three staffers were killed in the rampage at The Covenant School, a private Christian grade school. Police say they shot and killed the shooter.

Police are investigating after a woman was found shot dead in southeast Dallas Friday afternoon.
