Authorities have released the autopsy results of Shannan Gilbert, the New Jersey prostitute whose body was discovered near where 10 other victims of a suspected serial killer were found along Ocean Parkway.
In a statement, Jack Fitzpatrick said he believes that based on the available information, it is very unlikely that one person committed all 10 murders.
Police say the remains were found along Ocean Parkway in April 2011 and are connected to remains found on Blue Point Beach, Fire Island in April 1996.
A lawyer for the family says he sent a letter to the Justice Department requesting that the FBI take over the investigation into Gilbert's death as well the deaths of 10 other victims believed to be murdered by a serial killer.
