NYC weather this weekend includes storm chance, increasing humidity

Along with the increasingly humid conditions comes another chance of showers and storms overnight Saturday into Sunday. This chance is mainly after midnight through the early morning hours of Sunday.

While the severe threat looks marginal at best, a few storms may contain damaging winds and torrential downpours. The quick-moving nature of the storms will help mitigate the flash flood risk.

In terms of rainfall, most of the area will average between a quarter to half an inch. There may be pockets of heavier rain that lead to totals of over an inch, though.

The storm threat should last through roughly noon Sunday. After this timeframe, the rest of Sunday looks really nice, with increasing sunshine and falling humidity levels.

The extra sunshine will allow highs to reach the low to mid 80s, presenting a good opportunity for a late summer beach trip.
