Trains on the Red and Purple lines were shut down between Howard and Belmont due to the fire at Addison Street.
Chicago police said the group struck at least eight times on CTA buses, trains, and platforms between March 2 and March 9:
"We know for a fact on the bus, people get on with weapons. ... So a bag check is more than welcome to me," said Keith Hill, president of the CTA's largest worker union.
"Kevin Powell died without ever clenching a fist, without ever attacking his attacker, without ever defending himself."
CTA officials confirmed a southbound #157 (Streeterville/Taylor) bus hit a pedestrian near the corner of Pulaski and Cermak roads.
