The fastest way I've found to learn how to accomplish something with technology is to try to do it on a small-scale environment while studying material on how to do so along the way.
"Be very sure this is the right path for you. All legal careers have important issues at their heart, and all have clients who care very deeply about their causes, but in the criminal justice system, liberty is at stake," says Attorney Ellen Brotman.
"A trend in hiring practices is promoting your culture. First you have to have one, and be able to articulate it well," says CEO Alan Rihm.
"My goal is to inspire my team to take more initiative on their own, rather than tell them what to do and hope they listen," says Geoff Gross.
"Finding teachers with the qualities needed to serve an urban student population is probably the most challenging for us," says Dr. Stacy Gill-Phillips.

A degree will open you up to many more job opportunities, higher pay rates, and make it easier for an organization to hire you.
"Finding an encouraging and caring mentor or professional support network is also crucial," says Aniela Glinski.
Focusing on an information security-specific program will obviously assist someone with finding a job, but the true distinguisher for any candidate is technical ability and skill.
"The education is simply a foundation to help apply the principles of people and personal growth like a canvas is to a painter," says Jared Scherz.
"It is an essential skill to learn how to network; folks need to learn to introduce themselves to strangers and be confident that an interesting conversation is about to take place with almost all of the people they meet," says Adam Simmons.
I can honestly say that the majority of my educational background stems from the school of hard knocks, strategic mentorship, and a drive to learn and perform.
Researchers say acceptance is likely to continue to increase, even in the case of working moms with young kids.
"Start building a safety network now, see the world, and take calculated risks. Doing so will ensure a vibrant and exciting career," says Suzanne Garber.
When looking to hire, CEO Mike Patterson looks for "people who are likely to excel and deliver results even when you ask them to play a role where they have little or no experience."
"It is the diversity of knowledge and experience that provides the ability to see things others might have missed, and take advantage of opportunities outside of the common ones," says Russell Bonanno.
When I hire, I not only look for someone who has a technical understanding of cybersecurity principles but for someone who will embody Prevalent's core values of passion, communication, excellence, responsibility, integrity, performance, learning and customer value.
"If you aspire to be a CEO, it's important to have a well-rounded education and a diverse range of experiences," suggests Joel Davne.
"Many excellent teachers end up leaving the profession earlier because the first teaching job they find is in a school or a grade not suited to them. That is why it is important for prospective and new teachers to spend as much time as possible in different school settings as volunteers."
