Get ready for temperatures in the 80s!
Things are looking up for the weekend!
Rain chances decrease areawide by late this evening, then skies will clear in the overnight.
However, the cool wind flow off the chilly lake will continue through the weekend.
Temperatures climb to the 60s on Saturday as sunshine returns.
Patchy light rain continues this evening and overnight. Temperatures will remain steady in the mid to upper 40s.
Northern suburbs will see only a few sprinkles. Another area of rain arrives for Friday with a better chance for moderate showers and raw winds off the lake.
For Thursday, shower chances increase late in the day. Highs in the mid to upper 50s, with low 50s along the lake.
According to CBS 2 meteorologist Mary Kay Kleist, showers develop early afternoon Thursday, with rain chances lingering through Friday.
Mostly cloudy, breezy and cool for Wednesday. A lake breeze will result in highs ranging from low 60s in La Salle County to mid 40s along the Lake.
Highs will run a good 10 degrees below average the next few days.
A cold and rainy day is ahead.
No severe weather is expected, but slick roads and ponding will likely slow down traffic for the Tuesday morning commute.
Rainfall amounts for Tuesday could add up to as much as an inch and a quarter.
It will be breezy and wet much of the day. Finally drying out closer to sunset.

A possible tornado was reported in Oak Brook late Saturday.
As strong storms cross the Chicago area, airlines are reporting flight cancellations and delays at O'Hare and Midway airports.
It's a WEATHER ALERT day for the possibility of severe storms in the late afternoon.
Patchy rain tonight with lows in the low 50s. A Weather Alert will be in place for Saturday due to the threat of strong to severe thunderstorms.
