A convenience store worker was shot to death during an attempted robbery in Chicago's Grand Crossing neighborhood Tuesday night. The incident happened around 10:16 p.m. in the 300 block of East 79th Street.

Upon entry, officers found a man and woman both with apparent gunshot wounds.
The gunman pulled out a firearm and shot the victim multiple times before fleeing the scene on foot.
Deshawn Lucas, 33, is facing multiple felony charges including attempted first-degree murder.
The victim, identified as 43-year-old Shadi Mohammad Suleumen Almomani by the Medical Examiner's Office, was in an alley when he was approached by a man who attempted to rob him.
Arriving officers located several witnesses who reported an armed man inside a home and hearing a gunshot, police said.
Vanderk Mccondichie, 43, was charged with one felony count of first-degree murder.
The ages of the victims range from 14 to 61.
An unidentified male offender entered a laundromat and approached a 57-year-old man before pulling out a firearm and shooting the victim multiple times, police said.
