In one resident's backyard, crews were working for hours.
Some residents of Calumet Heights had their power back Wednesday, 48 hours after it was knocked out by a storm. But as Marybel Gonzalez reports, some still did not have power.
The storms Sunday and Monday night brought multiple tornadoes to the area, and for residents of Crestwood and Calumet Park, there was a lot of cleaning up to do Tuesday. Jermont Terry reports.
The damage is so severe in some parts of Northern Illinois that they had to import more than 300 utility workers all the way from Canada to help get the job done. Megan Hickey reports.
Hospitals, major subway systems, and homes in the nation spent hours with no power in their homes, schools, hospitals, or trains because of what officials called a "maintenance and transmission issue" with the national grid.
At one point, more than a million power outages were being reported between Texas and Louisiana, alone.
The storms across the country have also left tens of thousands without power.

CBS 2's Jermont Terry met some Rolling Meadows neighbors who lost power Friday morning -- and still didn't have it more than 12 hours later.
