An elderly woman has died following a residential fire in the South Chicago neighborhood Thursday night.
Flames were seen shooting through the residential building in the 250 block of Lake Street just before 3:30 a.m.
The fire started around 10 a.m. in a two-story apartment building in the 1600 block of North Mayfield Avenue in the Austin neighborhood.

Crews were called just before 6 p.m. to a three-story apartment building that was on fire at 7645 Knox Ave.
