The attack happened on Armitage Avenue near the Kennedy Expressway.
The victim went to a nearby gas station for help. He was taken to Advocate Illinois Masonic Medical Center in good condition.
At least five armed robberies were reported between 11 p.m. Tuesday and 1:30 a.m. Wednesday in the Bucktown, Logan Square, and West Town neighborhoods.

"Should've never happened. Whatever, whatever they asked for it, we provided," Patel said. "He was just pulling out his wallet and he shot him."
