Damarco Williams, 20, and Devin Alexander, 18, were placed into custody and charged with multiple felonies.
Police believe he hit four businesses - two in December and two in February.
In each incident, four men got out of a dark sedan with guns drawn and robbed someone on the street in the Logan Square, Palmer Square, and Hermosa areas.

The vendor said two of the four offenders exited the car, pushed him against the fence, and stuck guns in his face.

The 15-year-old was arrested in the 1100 block of South Hamilton Avenue on Tuesday.
Terrell Gordon, 19, was arrested by members of the Chicago Police Department around 7:39 a.m., in the 4000 block of West Wilcox Street.
"They jumped out and they were like, 'We're going to need your purse.' And then he goes, 'No no you're not going to need it.'
The victims were walking back from Cody's Public House in Lakeview around 11:30 Monday night. Chicago police said one of the two robbers who hopped out of the car had a metal stick and they wanted one thing: her purse.
In each incident, three or four armed men approached victims on the sidewalk and demanded their property by threatening the use of force.
The robber walked into a Walgreens, in the 6100 block of North Western Avenue just before 9:30 p.m., with a large knife and announced a robbery, police said.
Police said it happened at the location near Granville and Western just before 9:30 p.m. Tuesday.
The husband and wife said they were walking back from Cody's Public House bar when they were approached by two men.
One of the robbers who hopped out of the car had a metal stick and demanded the woman's purse, police said.
The robberies were reported in the Irving Park and Logan Square neighborhoods just a minute apart.
Police say the man went to buy the phone from a woman on Lincoln Avenue in Lakeview. Instead of selling the man a cellphone, the woman pulled a gun and took his personal belongings.
No one was hurt, but the robber was still on the loose Tuesday evening.
A sport-utility vehicle wanted in a robbery crashed near 63rd and State streets under a railroad overpass.
Police say in each incident robbers entered the business with handguns and demanded money from the cash register.
The teens were scheduled to appear at a juvenile detention hearing on Saturday.
Cedric Dupree, 56, was arrested by Chicago police on Friday in the 4900 block of South Chicago Beach Drive.
