Police said a 77-year-old was hospitalized in stable condition following Sunday's fire on Madison Street.
It happened just after 4:30 a.m. Sunday at a building near 110th Street and 71st Avenue in Forest Hills.
A 1- and 2-year-old are in critical condition after suffering smoke inhalation, and two 9-year-olds are stable.
Neighbors said they saw a man on fire and heard screaming at the scene in Bath Beach on Sunday evening.
