The Illinois winner of a $349 million Mega Millions jackpot remains a mystery over a week since the winning ticket was sold.
The tickets for Wednesday's midday drawing were sold at Navkar Food Inc. at 69 W. Washington St. in Chicago and Mariano's at 3025 E. New York St. in Aurora.
A Mega Millions lottery ticket that contained all the winning numbers — bought along the western edge of the Chicago metro area, in DeKalb County — has made someone in Illinois $344 million richer this week.
The station will receive a one-percent bonus of the prize amount, or $6,000, for selling the winning ticket.
Tickets will now cost $5 per play.
In the last two years, the station also sold a $25,000 and a $50,000 winning lottery ticket.
The winning ticket was purchased at Tony's Fresh Market at 4608 W. Belmont Ave. in Portage Park.
The business, the Headline Newsstand, located inside the lobby of 2 N. LaSalle Street, sold the ticket for the Thursday, Jan. 30 midday drawing.
The ticket was bought by a lucky winner at the International House of Wine and Cheese in Richmond at 11302 U.S. Highway 12.
The winner, nicknamed "Hard-Working Husband," played the Ultimate Diamond Jackpot game through the lottery app, he said, while they watched one of their favorite shows, getting caught off guard when he realized he had won.
According to lottery officials, the game had three $10 million top prizes, two of which were purchased last year.
The ticket was purchased for the Sunday, Nov. 10 evening drawing at Jewel-Osco, 4660 West Irving Park Road.
The Mega Millions jackpot has climbed to $670 million after no one claimed the prize during Tuesday night's drawing.
The winner purchased a Lucky Day Lotto ticket for Sunday's evening drawing at the BP gas station at 1215 Lee Street in Des Plaines.
They also said the game's name influenced the purchase, as his birthday is 7-7-77.
If the winner opts for a cash prize, they will take home $336.1 million.
The winner, whose nickname is "Future Audi Owner,'" won the prize by playing the Ultimate Diamond Jackpot — a Fast Play on the Illinois Lottery app.
The player purchased the ticket matching all six numbers in Monday's drawing at the South Gate Mini Mart, 18747 Dixie Highway, Homewood, Illinois.
The winning ticket was purchased for the Saturday, July 13, Powerball drawing at the family-owned Foodsmart store at 3415 W. Diversey Ave.
The ticket was bought for the Wednesday, July 10 evening drawing at the store located at 45 South Plum Grove Road.
According to lottery officials, nine players in Illinois have won a million dollars or more playing Lotto so far this year.
The ticket in the May 20 Lotto Million 1 drawing matched all six numbers, winning the $1 million jackpot prize.
The prize was said to be the largest ever won by an iLottery player in the nation.
The ticket was purchased by someone in Illinois. However, it's not clear where as it appeared the ticket was bought online.
