The ticket was purchased by someone in Illinois. However, it's not clear where as it appeared the ticket was bought online.
The ticket was sold on Monday at a BP gas station located at 39105 North Highway 41 in Wadsworth, Illinois, about 45 miles north of Chicago.
Lottery officials said the player purchased a "$10 Million" game at Casey's convenience store at 3499 Fosterburg Road in Alton, Illinois, about 18 miles from St. Louis.

The winners are the seventh, eighth, and ninth players to win the $1 million tier prize, according to lottery officials.
The winner won $1 million from the ticket that was given to her by a regular customer.
Saturday night's jackpot was delayed due to one participating lottery needing additional time to complete pre-draw procedures.
If won, the player can take the cash payout around $595 million. The next drawing happens Saturday.
Powerball's next jackpot will be at least an estimated $1.23 billion after no tickets matched the numbers needed to win Wednesday night's grand prize of roughly $1.09 billion.
Lottery officials said it was the last top prize available for the game, which launched in February 2020.
There was one winning ticket sold for Tuesday night's estimated $1.13 billion Mega Millions jackpot, in New Jersey, officials said. It was the fifth largest in the game's history.
There has not been a grand prize winner since New Year's Day.
No one has won the Mega Millions jackpot since Dec. 8, a string of 30 consecutive drawings without anyone taking home the top prize.
The Mega Millions jackpot has grown to an estimated $977 million during the 29 drawings with no winner since Dec. 8.
The player matched all five numbers in the March 6 Lucky Day Lotto evening drawing to win the $1.4 million jackpot.

According to lottery officials, she purchased the ticket because it was purple – her favorite color.
The winner, who wants to remain anonymous, said he kept the win a secret but felt his life change immediately.

The player spent $10 and, in return, won the top prize of $500,000 playing the "$100,000,000 Ca$h Spectacular" game.
The $10 ticket was purchased at the Thornton's gas station at 3001 Wabash Avenue.
The player purchased the "777 Jackpot" scratch-off ticket at a 7-Eleven at 1585 Rand Road.
The $10 scratch-off ticket gives players the option, if won, a choice to receive up to $25,000 per month for 20 years.
The $20 progressive Fast Play game starts at $50,000 and increases with each ticket sold statewide until the jackpot is won.
