The reason for the recall is loose parts that could fall off.
The affected vehicles are the Kia Niro from 2023-2025, Niro EV from 2023-2025 and the Niro plug-in hybrid from 2023-2025.

The increase of thefts came from a social media craze that exposed an easier way to break in and steal Hyundai and Kia models that don’t have automatic starts.
