Today, the feel of fall returns with a wind shift back to the NW. Early morning showers along with the front have pushed of the coast with rapidly clearing skies following in for the morning hours into the afternoon as skies.Skies will become mostly sunny with a chilly breeze from Canada which will help to keep temps about 15-20 degrees cooler than yesterday...so don't forget the warmer clothes.
A widespread killing freeze is likely overnight with many areas spending a few hours in the 20's around dawn Saturday. After a frosty cold and clear start, Saturday will be filled with sunshine with highs around 50-55. Temps running below normal, but light winds in the sunshine will make for a very nice afternoon.
Clouds will be spreading from west to east during the day and thicken along with approaching showers from the Mid-Atlantic. Showers should begin to develop in the mid-afternoon between 2-4. Temps will climb into the mid-upper 50′s before the showers arrive.
With a weak ridge of high pressure still in place, just enough sinking air remains in place so by the afternoon, this deck of clouds will begin to thin inland giving way to increasing sunshine inland where high temps could climb into the Lwr 70's...especially in western New England who will see the most sun. Clouds will hold longer on the coast, but eventually the sun will emerge this afternoon. Light east winds will keep it cooler at the coast again in the Lwr-mid 60's. Cape Cod and the Islands will have a mostly cloudy day with the risk of being clipped with some light showers from the midday through afternoon.
Cool High pressure sits over New England this morning with cool calm conditions. Temps in the 40's and 50's will be warming inot the 60's this afternoon. Light NE winds will keep it cooler at the coast 62-65, very similar to the current Ocean Temp. It will be slightly warmer inland 65-68 away from the onshore flow.
Sunshine and light SW winds will allow temps to warm up quickly this morning into the afternoon. Highs will be climbing into the mid-upper 70's inland. Winds will be light enough to turn onshore during the afternoon...a sea breeze will keep temps in the Lwr 70s at the beach. High clouds may increase a bit during the afternoon...but just an all around stellar day outside.

Temps will be warming up this afternoon inland climbing into the mid 80's for most areas, even nearing 90 in western New England. Weak high pressure will make for wall to wall sunshine through the day with light NW winds. A sea breeze will likely develop at the coast this afternoon to cool temps from the lwr 80's back into the 70's for the second half of the day.
Batches of showers will continue to be directed up into eastern MA for the rest of the day. With cool onshore SE winds...expect highs to remain in the lwr 60's with a bit warmer temps inland in the mid 60's where it will be drier this afternoon in the mid 60's nearing 70 in spots.
With high pressure sitting over us today, temps will climb into the 70's and lwr 80's inland. Light east winds will keep temps in the 60's at the immediate beaches. The sea breeze will not penetrate more than a mile or two inland...so once away from the water...expect a warmer day.
That dry air will begin to erode some of the low cloud cover this afternoon...with breaks of sun forming inland. The front will stall as it approaches SE MA...so clouds will remain pretty locked in at the coast for much of the day. With light onshore winds....expect temps to remain in the 50's with Lwr-mid 60's farther inland away from the cooler water temps.
Temps are quickly responding to sunshine as highs will climb into the mid-uppr 50's this afternoon with lighter WNW winds with gusts to 20mph.
What a day this is going to be. After a week of incredible weather, this one could end up being on of the best. Sunshine with some increasing high clouds in the afternoon with southerly winds gusting to 20+ in the afternoon. Highs will be running well above normal again with highs climbing to near 80 degrees in SNH, the Merrimack Valley and Northern Worcester county. The rest of us will see highs in the mid-upper 70's with a slight sea breeze developing right at the coast this afternoon which will keep it cooler on the south shore beaches and the Cape in the 60's.
