The Granite Falls Police Department says a man had been walking on a path near highways 212 and 23 shortly before noon when he spotted a body in the river.
A 911 caller reported a body in the river on the 700 block of Butternut Avenue, near the Lilydale boat launch, around 9:45 a.m., according to the Ramsey County Sheriff's Office.
Police say that a body was found on the side of the road around 10:45 a.m.
Authorities do not know how long the person had been there.
The medical examiner's office is working to identify a body that was found in a cave near the St. Paul RiverCentre Wednesday night.
SPFD's Advanced Technical Rescue Team was called in to secure the body, and carefully hoist it out of the space.
