Practice picketing took place in Detroit outside of the Stellantis Mack Assembly Plant in Detroit as a union vote to authorize a strike is set to conclude on Thursday.
The decision to strike will be made after votes are reported on Aug. 24.
In a statement, Stellantis says it was notified about the workers, but it is unknown how they contracted the disease.
The UAW opted out of the tradition of shaking auto executives hands ahead of negotiations and met with members instead.
