Police learned the man had gotten into a fight with another man who stabbed him and ran off.
A man got into a quarrel with another man on Van Buren Street near Dearborn Street, and the second man stabbed the first in the chest and arm, police said.
Police said the offender was taken into custody shortly after the incident. Charges are pending.
