The most recent shooting happened about 11:40 p.m. in the North Lawndale neighborhood on the Southwest Side. A 14-year-old boy was outside in the 2200 block of South Central Park Avenue when an SUV drove past and someone inside fired shots in his direction.

In the wake of a holiday weekend in which at least 55 people were shot in Chicago – 12 of them fatally – a Cook County Commissioner was calling for city- and county-wide action to quell gang violence.

About 8:30 p.m., the 17-year-old was standing on the sidewalk with two other people in the 5500 block of West Fulton Street when someone fired at them from an alley, police said.
About 8:35 p.m., the woman was in a vehicle in the 3600 block of West 85th Place when someone in a nearby SUV shot her in the neck and cheek, police said.
About 5 p.m., a 25-year-old man was shot in the right hand and hip in the 1600 block of West Juneway Terrace. An hour later, a 23-year-old man was wounded in a possible drive-by shooting in the 1300 block of West Greenleaf Avenue.
Rasheen Crenshaw, 19, is charged with two counts of aggravated assault, two counts of aggravated discharge of a firearm, and two counts of unlawful possession of a firearm by a gang member. Jeremy Watts, 23, is charged with aggravated battery, resisting a peace officer, and two counts of unlawful use of a weapon by a felon.
