A man was hit and killed by a car while he was trying to remove a goose from the roadway in unincorporated Elgin Township on Tuesday. Kane County Sheriff's deputies responded to the area of 1200 St. Charles St. for a crash involving a pedestrian, police said.
Residents are getting calls from someone claiming to be a lawyer or a public official during their Zoon court calls.
The public is reminded that the person is a scammer and does not work for Kane County or any judges.
Mark Rivera, 50, was sentenced by Kane County Judge John A. Barsanti, the county State's Attorney's office announced Tuesday.
