Police said, around 4:15 p.m., troopers responded to the Bishop Ford at 115th Street for a report of an expressway shooting.
Illinois State Police confirmed all inbound lanes of the Bishop Ford were blocked at 159th Street around 9:30 a.m.
The trooper was inside at the time of the crash but refused medical attention.
