Photos from the scene showed a white car, a Chevrolet pickup truck, and at least two semi-trailer trucks were among the vehicles involved in the pileup near Cicero Avenue in Alsip.
More than a dozen vehicles were involved.
The truck was hauling cars, which appeared to be burning in the fire in Alsip.
Crews put out the flames at the crash site on the Tri-State between Crawford and Kedzie avenues in Alsip.
Video from the scene showed the truck—cab, trailer, and all—engulfed in a raging inferno.
