When Aldon Smith left the team to enter a substance abuse program in September, there was no real timeline as to when he would return. The team had to assume the worst and prepare for a season without their star pass rusher, however things have changed. It now looks like Smith will not only be back this season, but could play as soon as next week, which is in the best interest of the team and player.
San Francisco has hit the midway point in their season and with a 6-2 record, they have to be happy with the overall play of the team. They have gotten a positive contribution from just about every member of the roster, and the only real gripes have to be a questionable offensive game plan to start the season and a free agent pick up that has not lived up to expectations.
