In a late night vote, the New York City Council passed a record $101 billion budget deal. As CBS2's John Dias reports, it's the biggest in the city's history.
Officers responded to a 911 call at an apartment building on the Grand Concourse at around 3 a.m. Monday.
CBS2's Kristine Johnson has more on the investigation and the charges.
That's compared to nearly 2,700 officers who either retired or resigned during all of 2021.
According to NYPD data, nearly 1,100 officers have retired for resigned as of May 31.
Surveillance video shows the suspect charge at the worker behind the counter.
After five days of deliberations, a Queens jury convicted the 28-year-old for his role in the February 2019 incident.
The victim was taken to Jacobi Medical Center in stable condition. So far no arrest has been made.
Police say the victim is an NYPD transit officer, whose name has not been released.
Police said the officer was on foot patrol and saw one of the men involved in the fight jump into a car.
Police say the officer was trying to intervene during a fight.
Bus service was suspended for about two hours and Eighth Avenue was shut down while law enforcement investigated.
The package was later deemed no threat by law enforcement. CBS2's Maurice Dubois reports.
