Keep Your Tires Working Their Best In Harsh Cold

A lot of drivers are pulling into tire repair shops with flat tires or tires that have suddenly had the air pressure drop. It's due to the extreme cold, and it's dangerous. Inside Tires Plus in St. Anthony Village, it has the feel of an emergency room: Cars and trucks hoisted up on lifts and tires under inspection. If your tire pressure is too low, you have less control of your vehicle. "It's very important to check your air pressure once a month. A lot of data says twice a month. Because of the temperature fluctuations, you need to maintain that proper air pressure," Matt Johnson, the Tires Plus manager, said.

The Twin Cities man who tossed1,000 $1 bills to strangers at the Mall of America on Black Friday says it was worth it. Apple Valley-resident Serge Vorobyov, 29, threw money from the third floor rotunda railing on Friday afternoon. The money fell down to a crowd that had gathered to listen to holiday music. When the performers starting singing "Let It Snow," Vorobyov started tossing the cash. He told police he was going through a divorce and having financial problems. He only had $1,000 to his name.

First Responders Awarded For Saving Boy Hurt By Train

A St. Paul boy whose feet were severed by a moving train last summer got a chance to thank first responders Thursday. In August, Marshawn Robinson was playing by some tracks near his home as a moving train went by. He apparently slipped and fell, and both of his feet were severed near his ankles. Thursday, the emergency workers who were the first to provide medical care were honored by Regions Hospital. This was the first time since the accident that Marshawn had a chance to talk to the people who stood by him during the scariest time of his life. Officer Marshall Titus was the first to arrive on the scene.
