According to Miami Police, Wells was outside his restaurant playing dominoes on Friday night when someone came up and shot him. He was rushed to the Ryder Trauma Center at Jackson Memorial Hospital, where he died. Police are still searching for the suspect.
Right after 9:20 p.m. Friday, Wells was playing dominoes with two other people outside his restaurant when someone shot him, City of Miami Police said.
The City of Miami Police told CBS News Miami that 40-year-old Dwight C. Wells, the founder of "Bikes Up, Guns Down," was the man who was shot and killed outside Winning And Won Turkey Legs, his Liberty City restaurant.
Authorities said the man may have suffered injuries from the animals after his death, though an autopsy will determine the official cause.
Police said that the victim suffered injuries caused by a dog, but the medical examiner will determine if those injuries happened before or after his death.
The two men were rushed to the hospital for treatment, where one of them died from their injuries, BSO said. The condition of the other man remains unclear.
