"I'm kind of surprised being here at the Winter Meetings that you really haven't heard about Scherzer."
Since the end of the season, Dombrowski has said Detroit's odds of signing Scherzer declined precipitously when he became a free agent.
"I don't bet against Dave Dombrowski ever, I believe that the Tigers can and will be the team to beat in the central this year but they have a little work to do this offseason."
