In the most recent shooting, a man suffered a gunshot wound to the chest in the West Englewood neighborhood on the South Side.
A Chicago Police detective and Cook County prosecutor testified Thursday that off-duty police officer Dante Servin told them he opened fire toward a group of West Side partygoers because he saw a gun pointed at him.
Police said the boy was walking along the 5700 block of South Bishop Street around 10 p.m., when he was approached by unknown offenders who began shooting.
The shooting happened about 12:10 a.m. in the 4700 block of West Maypole Avenue, police said. The man was walking when two men approached and announced a robbery.
One boy, 16, was shot in the neck while the other, a 17-year-old, was shot in the right shoulder, police said.
