Chicago Police Area Five Deputy Chief Roberto Nieves has details on a shooting that wounded four teenage boys near Carl Schurz High School at Milwaukee Avenue and Addison Street.
The shooting took place on the patio of an ice cream shop across from the school at Milwaukee Avenue and Addison Street. CBS 2's Charlie De Mar reports.
The shooting did not happen inside the school in the Old Irving Park neighborhood, but the school did go on lockdown. CBS 2's Charlie De Mar reports.
The victim was pronounced dead at the scene.
The two injured victims were taken to the hospital in fair condition.
All three victims were transported to area hospitals in good condition.
Police said the 33-year-old man was in the back seat of a car in the 2500 block of South Karlov around 9:20 p.m., when three men walked up and fired 23 shots into the vehicle.
CBS 2’s Marybel González caught up with the family of the woman and child who were shot.
Police said the circumstances of the shooting are unclear and no one is in custody.
The ages of the victims range from 6 to 56.

Police said this was not a random act and are calling this shooting targeted.
Authorities said it happened just after 2:00 Monday afternoon in the 5000 block of North Troy.
The shooting happened around 7:50 p.m. as the park was closing.
At least seven people are dead and 40 others are wounded in shootings across the city as of Saturday.
