Thursday night, one man was killed and another was wounded in a Chatham neighborhood shooting, police said. The two men were inside a basement apartment about 9:55 p.m. in the 7900 block of South State when someone knocked on the door, and fired several shots when the door was opened.
A 15-year-old was shot and killed in the North Lawndale neighborhood on the West Side about 10 p.m. Wednesday. Kimon Wheeler got into a fight with someone who then pulled out a gun and shot him in the back about 10 p.m. in the 4100 block of West Cullerton Street.
About 2 a.m., a 16-year-old boy was walking in the 5800 block of South Green Street when someone opened fire from a passing vehicle, police said.
The boy fell around 9 p.m., from a home in the 7100 block of South Emerald Avenue. He landed on a metal fence, cutting his stomach.
The child fell around 9 p.m. from a second-story window in a residence in the 7100 block of South Emerald Avenue. The boy suffered a cut to his stomach and chest after being impaled by part of a fence, but he was free of the structure when rescue crews had arrived.

Keith Stokes, 24, was riding in a vehicle in the 5700 block of South Morgan when another vehicle approached and someone inside started shooting. Stokes was shot several times in the upper body and was pronounced dead at the scene at 2:07 p.m.
About 7 p.m., the woman was in the 7300 block of South Winchester when a male got out of a van and shot toward another group of males also on the block, police said.
About 8:40 p.m., the two — ages 14 and 15 — were in the 5800 block of South Morgan Street when two other males rode past on bicycles, police said. One of the two bike riders stopped, turned around and shot the two teens.
About 10:25 p.m., the man was getting into a car at the station in the 100 block of West 63rd Street when a white SUV pulled up and someone inside shot him in the buttocks, police said.
