A closely-knit community in the western suburbs is still trying to make sense of a devastating fire that destroyed their church. It happened in Maywood where New Life in Christ Bible Church once stood, but now lies a burnt out, hollow frame and plenty of heartache.
People were gathered for the afternoon service when they noticed an unusual smell.
The burglaries happened during the months of October and November.
The Good Hope Free Will Baptist Church is giving out more than 300 frozen turkeys and 500 hot meals to community members Saturday afternoon.
