While the advice is to stay at home during the coronavirus pandemic, not everyone has that option.
"We have to keep the public transit system going," the mayor said. "People need to be able to get to work. Lots of folks depend on public transportation to get to and from."
CTA Red Line trains were rerouted to the elevated lines between the Fullerton and Cermak-Chinatown stops Sunday night due to an "unauthorized person" on the tracks at Grand.
