It happened during the early morning hours in the McKinley Park and Armour Square neighborhoods.
It comes days after more than a dozen businesses in Highland Park and Morton Grove were burglarized in a similar pattern.
An expert said businesses in the city, along with the CPD, have beefed up awareness, so the crooks are moving elsewhere — and suburban businesses are easier targets.
The burglary crew is already linked to smash-and-grabs in Chicago's North Mayfair neighborhood and north suburban Morton Grove.
