Mired in their first losing stretch under coach Jim Harbaugh and minus at least one key player, the visiting 49ers look to avoid a third consecutive defeat Thursday night against a Rams team that gave them plenty of trouble in 2012.
"We're facing adversity. It gives us the opportunity to stare it in the face and respond," 49ers head coach Jim Harbaugh said. "That's a relentless quest for improvement, that's where we're at."
While it's hard to tell, the 49ers are slowly getting healthier. The long list of names on their injured report remains, but nothing to be alarmed about for the time being. St. Louis on the other hand is as healthy as can be heading into this pivotal game to stay out of the NFC West cellar.
