The shots were fired around 2:30 p.m. Saturday outside the Willoughby Court Apartments.
Chopper 2 was over the scene of the shooting. There was no immediate word on a possible motive.
"He was threatening, 'I'm gonna kill you. I'm gonna burn the store. I'm going to burn the building down,'" Mohamed Abdulla said.
Just this week, three 16-year-old were shot and killed in separate incidents.
Law enforcement has a heightened sensitivity because of 9/11, but authorities say this was a domestic issue.
