According to the TSA, the 36-year-old has been a transportation security officer since 2023.
The Miami-Dade Sheriff's Office said their initial investigation suggests several people approached their vehicle and opened fire before fleeing the scene.

Deputies responded to reports of a person shot shortly after 5:30 p.m. in the 300 block of SW 79th Ave., just south of SW 2nd Street.
