Chicago weekend shootings: 8 dead, 16 others hurt

Norbert Thigpen, 36, of Burbank, Illinois, was charged with two felony counts of armed robbery with discharge of a firearm and one felony count of fleeing police.
He's been at PAWS Chicago for a few weeks now, getting some medical attention and training, and has spent time in foster homes, so PAWS knows so much about him already.
Chicago police said around 4:15 a.m., a 30-year-old man was escorting another man out of the Deja Vu Showgirls Club, located in the 700 block of South Clinton Street near Polk Street, when a black Tesla pulled up, and someone from inside fired shots.

Officers used private surveillance video from the burglaries along with the description of a car from a community member.
They were taken to a local hospital in good condition. No other injuries were reported.
That person was hit by two to three cars just after 11 p.m. on I-94 near 75th Street, according to Illinois State Police.
Quntin Buchanan, 25, was arrested on Tuesday around 9:49 p.m., in the 200 block of West 95th Street.
Palatine police arrested James King, 31, of Arlington Heights on Wednesday. He was charged with two counts of child abduction and one count of aggravated criminal sexual abuse.
Chicago police said just before 3 a.m., the girl was walking in the 2800 block of West 71st Street when a black BMW pulled up and an occupant from inside fired shots.
Chicago police said around 11:23 p.m., officers found the 31-year-old victim inside a white car unresponsive, in the 0-100 block of West 59th Street, he had been shot in the head and body.
Chicago police said a 46-year-old man and another male of unknown age were on the sidewalk when an unknown offender shot them.
The person matched all five numbers in Tuesday's drawing to win the jackpot, according to lottery officials.
The incident happened around 11 p.m. on June 28, in the 300 block of West 24th Street.
