A reporter with CBS Houston affiliate KHOU may have saved a truck driver's life. Reporter Brandi Smith spotted a trapped driver as his tractor-trailer was being swallowed by floodwaters. She waved down a Harris county sheriff towing an airboat to effect the rescue.
Waist-deep flood waters
In the Greater Heights neighborhood near downtown Houston, flood waters have reached several feet in depth. A big concern is that bayous in the area could overflow into the neighborhood. Cars are abandoned and some people have struggled to find help. Jericka Duncan has more.
