Preliminary evidence in the shooting deaths of a man and a woman in Irvine indicates it was a murder suicide of a mother and son, police said Thursday.
The shooting occurred inside a home on Hexham Street.
The two were found dead at about 6:30 a.m. Thursday in a home located in the 100 block of Herondo Street.
The woman and child were overcome by flames and were pronounced dead at the scene. Their identities are being withheld pending family notification.
The incident occurred in the 8500 block of Cedros Street.
