Caltrans crews scheduled the closure so that they could work on the San Gabriel River Bridge. The closure begins Wednesday evening between Irwindale Avenue and the 605 Freeway.
The southbound lane of the 1 Freeway was closed around noon in preparation for President Joe Biden and First Lady Jill Biden's visit to the Getty Villa. They will be joined by other world leaders for a dinner. Jasmine Viel reports.
