The man allegedly formed the plan with his younger girlfriend to "get rid" of her parents, who were reportedly trying to keep the couple apart.
Officers were called about 12:45 a.m. Friday to the apartment and found that 33-year-old James Arthur Washington had been stabbed multiple times.
"As I went to her, she started slashing me. She said something out of anger like, 'You won't mess with me,'" Blige testified.
