Responding officers quickly found him and placed him into custody less than 30 minutes later.
The robbery happened on Cornelia Avenue in East Lakeview.
No one was hurt in the robbery, and no one was in custody Monday afternoon.
Police said the alleged suspect robbed someone last Sunday around 5:30 a.m. on the platform at the Granville CTA Red Line stop in Edgewater.
