The Cook County Medical Examiner’s office reported Friday that Jean Carlos Martinez Rivero died of sepsis due to an infection with streptococcus pyogenes – the bacterium that causes strep throat – with COVID-19 and other viral infections contributing.
The state, county, and city all came together discuss how much they can pool to pay for the migrant mission this year. They came up with an estimate of $321 million through the end of 2024.
The state committed the money, as did the county – but there was no word from the city Thursday. CBS 2's Sabrina Franza reports.
