After Sunday Showers...A Brief Winter-Like Blast

A damp start to Sunday with a batch of showers...Light rain and drizzle.. associated with a weak short wave pushing through which is helping to provide the initial lift for the morning hours. The cut-off low, which has taken eight days to move through the country making all kinds of weather headlines, is finally beginning to push off the coast as it rides well south of New England. Still just enough lift may be in place that we could still see a few lingering light showers and drizzle into the afternoon, especially along the coast with light onshore East winds.

Humid Stretch Showing Signs Of Ending

High pressure is close enough to provide enough subsidence for some increasing PM sunshine across the north with skies becoming partly sunny. This stable sinking air should allow for some brightening to the skies this afternoon in the south as well...with more clouds south of the Pike closer to the front. Winds are extremely light today, but expect them to shift onshore this afternoon for a feeble onshore wind. This will keep it slightly cooler at the beaches in the mid 70's with many inland areas in the upper 70's and Lwr 80's, especially if we break into any period of sunshine...which I am expecting to develop this afternoon.

Less Humid Air on The Move...Cooler Midweek

A warm and muggy night, but a cold front will push off the coast and drier air will move in overnight with clearing skies and lows in the 60's. Tuesday will be a warm, but less humid day. There will be plenty of sun in the morning, but cooler air aloft supplied by an upper level low over us will keep the air unstable. Expecting building PM clouds with the potential for a spot shower or thunderstorm. Breezy WNW will warm the coastal plain with many areas climbing into the mid-upper 80's
