Police say the teen told officers he was walking when a man walked up and they got into an argument.
It happened just after midnight in the 6200 block of South Kedzie Avenue.
It happened at Jackson and Hoyne, about a block away from the Chicago Bulls College Prep high school.
Police say three men driving a Grey SUV Jeep approached the victims on the street, displayed a long gun, and demanded their belongings.
Kristi B. Tyler, 53, was arrested and charged with aggravated battery to a victim over the age of 60, aggravated battery causing great bodily harm, and aggravated battery in a public place.
It happened around noon in the 100 block of North Kenilworth.
