Man charged in killing of woman in South Shore

The victim was taken to Stroger Hospital, where he was pronounced dead.
At least seven burglaries were reported between Dec. 14 and Jan. 9.
The ages of the victims range from 17 to 43, according to Chicago police.
The victim from Cedar Lake was stabbed multiple times during a confrontation stemming from a road rage incident, police said.
The officer was taken to an area hospital for multiple cuts and is expected to recover.
A Metra police officer was taken to Rush Oak Park as a precaution and has since been discharged and is back on duty.
Metra officials said a man's body was found on the tracks around 5:20 p.m. on Friday.
Chicago police said two men, 23 and 26, were shot by a gunman inside an apartment on Wednesday afternoon.
The driver of the vehicle did not stop to render aid to Bragg, who later died from her injuries.
The latest robbery happened on Tuesday in the Woodlawn neighborhood, police said.
The boys, ages 15 to 17, were arrested and charged with felony armed robbery and attempted armed robbery.
Riverdale police said during the afternoon on Dec. 31, a white Kia was driving through a gas station parking lot when it hit the 72-year-old woman, who was walking through the lot.
The incident happened around 7:40 p.m. in the 5000 block of South Kedzie Avenue in the Gage Park neighborhood.
A tractor-trailer semi-truck hit the Norfolk Southern Bridge overpass, causing its trailer to dislodge from the truck and hit a garbage dump truck in the center lane, state police said.
